The Vineyard View Suite is one of the two oversized rooms on the second floor of the inn, and the one most guests book when they want a king bed, a real sitting area, and a view they can actually settle in front of. It looks out over the meadow at the back of the property toward the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the light in the room changes meaningfully through the day. Morning sun through the windows, softer afternoon light, and a long blue dusk when the sun drops behind the ridge.
Inside the suite, a king sized bed positioned to take in the view, a generous sitting area with two reclining chairs angled toward the fireplace, a chest of drawers, and a full closet that can actually hold a multi night wardrobe. The fireplace runs seasonally from mid October through mid March, which is when most couples book this room for an anniversary or fall color getaway near Asheville. The bathroom is the detail many returning guests mention first. A separate vanity area built around one of Engadine’s original marble vanities, actual century plus old material, repurposed rather than replicated, paired with a clawfoot tub with shower in the bath itself.
This room is most often booked for celebrations that warrant a little extra space. Anniversaries, milestone birthdays, the night before or after a wedding at one of our outdoor venues, and longer than usual romantic weekends. It also works well as a quiet, distinctive place for a working professional who wants a few days away from the city without dropping into a chain hotel. The sitting area can double as a workspace, and the desk height surface near the window is enough for a laptop and a coffee.
The room is also a short walk down the hall from the second floor common sitting area, where coffee and tea are available 24 hours. A fresh breakfast, with eggs often sourced from our own chickens and quail, is included each morning.
