The Engadine Suite is the largest and most private room in the inn, occupying the entire third floor of the original 1885 house. It is named for the property itself, and it is the room most often booked when guests want a step up in space and seclusion without leaving the main house. Half of the suite is sloped ceiling under the original roofline, which gives it an unmistakable character. Anyone who has stayed in a real Victorian attic suite recognizes the geometry the moment they walk in.
The suite includes a king sized bed, a separate sitting area large enough to actually live in for several days, a writing desk, a chest of drawers, and a full closet. The fireplace runs seasonally from mid October through mid March. The en suite bathroom is generous by historic inn standards, with a clawfoot tub with shower and enough space to move around comfortably while getting ready. From the third floor you also get the most elevated views of the property’s meadow and the mountains beyond, which matters most in fall when leaf color is at peak.
This is the suite to book if you are planning a special anniversary or honeymoon stay, if you are getting married on the property and want the most private accommodation for the wedding night, or if you are simply a returning Engadine guest ready to try the room everyone tells you to try. It also works well for a solo professional or couple staying multiple nights, where the extra living space matters because you are not just in the room to sleep.
The Engadine Suite does involve a flight of stairs up from the second floor, which is worth noting if stairs are a concern. The suite does not have its own elevator access. Guests with mobility considerations are better suited to the Brickell Suite on the first floor.

Water pressure in the suite can run lower during peak morning hours when usage across the building is at its highest. It returns to normal once demand settles.
