Real Engadine Weddings

“We had a wonderful wedding weekend at the Engadine. The views are beautiful, the rooms and cabins provided a great place for friends and family to stay, and the staff was super helpful.”

★★★★★  Mitchell Austin · Google Review · May 2026

“We had our wedding at the Engadine Gazebo overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Breathtaking! The wedding was small with just our adult kids so we all stayed in the house. We played dominos at the dining room table the night before the wedding. In the morning we were all treated to quiche and waffles for breakfast before the wedding. Loved it!”

Two Outdoor Wedding Venues for Your Ceremony & Reception

For larger weddings (up to 100 guests), our bed and breakfast near Asheville offers two outdoor, open-air venues, both of which have spectacular views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. You’re welcome to use one or both of our venue locations in order to accommodate your family, friends and loved ones.

Wedding ceremony at the Ceremony Pavilion on Honey Hill, Engadine Inn Blue Ridge Mountains wedding venue

Honey Hill

West/Sunset Facing | 6,500 square feet

Honey Hill is a large grassy meadow with adequate space for hosting both a ceremony and a reception to follow at opposite ends. The west end of Honey Hill has a dramatic view of nearby Thompson Knob and the Pisgah Mountains which is particularly striking at sunset, and is anchored by the Ceremony Pavilion. The pavilion is a permanent roofed structure open on all sides with a 20 foot by 20 foot floor, sited so the mountain view stays in full frame during the ceremony. The east end of Honey Hill is anchored by a tremendous white oak tree which is uplit and accented with hanging lanterns. Uplighting is also used to highlight trees around the perimeter.

A practical note on weather. Western North Carolina weather is generally cooperative during the wedding season, but it is mountain weather, and rain is occasionally part of the day. The Ceremony Pavilion is roofed but open on all sides, so it is not a rain shelter. Our standard approach is to build the timeline with weather in mind and, if a shower passes through, to wait it out. Mountain rain typically moves quickly, and couples who plan with that in mind rather than against it tend to be glad they did. We talk through the forecast and the timing with every couple as the date approaches.

Reception under the tent at Vineyard Overlook, Engadine Inn wedding venue near Asheville

Vineyard Overlook

North Facing | 4,500 square feet

Vineyard Overlook is well suited for hosting a reception or dinner following a ceremony at Honey Hill should a second, separate space be needed. Vineyard Overlook is installed (seasonally) with a 30’x50’ frame tent which is outfitted with parquet flooring, overhead string lighting and three rustic chandeliers. It offers a panoramic view of the Holland Mountain range to the north of Engadine.

After You Inquire

What Happens After You Inquire

Submit the inquiry form and you will receive an email from Ward, one of the owners, within one business day. It includes our full wedding guide with pricing, plus a link to schedule a call so we can introduce ourselves properly and hear what you are planning.

Ward is your first point of contact and the person you will talk the wedding through with. Your primary contacts are Ward and Alex, the other owner and our on-site manager. You will meet other members of the Engadine team along the way as well.

How far ahead you should book depends on the size of the wedding, and the honest answer is that the venue is usually not the constraint. Your photographer, caterer, planner and rental vendors are, and the good ones fill up. Fall color season fills a year or more ahead, so if you want those dates, plan for it. Larger weddings are best booked about a year out, mostly so you have your pick of vendors. Elopements and small ceremonies can come together in a matter of days when the date is open. We can work with most timelines, and the earlier you reach out, the more of your wedding is still your choice rather than what is left.

If it rains, plan A is to wait it out. Mountain weather moves quickly and most showers pass. Plan B is to hold the ceremony under the reception tent at Vineyard Overlook, so the ceremony and reception happen in one place. Plan C applies only to genuinely unsafe conditions, where safety comes first and we will work with you on a new date. We talk through your weather plan well before the day, so nobody is making that call in the moment.

Vendors & Coordination

Bring the Team That Fits Your Day

We do not require you to use specific vendors. Bring the caterer, florist, photographer, and musicians who fit your vision. We do ask to approve vendors before the event, which keeps things running cleanly on a working historic property, and once you are under contract we share our preferred vendor list of people who already know Engadine and how the day flows here.

We do require a day-of coordinator. A wedding planner is not required, but for anything beyond a small ceremony we strongly suggest one. Running a full wedding day across twelve acres is more work than most couples expect, and a good planner is usually the difference between hosting your wedding and actually getting to enjoy it. If you want a starting point, we are glad to recommend both a coordinator and a planner.
