With the arrival of spring and as May dawns, so does the traditional “wedding season,” those months each year when couples gather with friends and family to celebrate their love and the start of new lives together. But, weddings today are nothing like they used to be! These days, celebrations are trending away from tradition, with couples selecting interesting destinations and unique venues instead of houses of worship as places to exchange their vows.
Here at Engadine, we’re working to create our own special place for tying the knot. Toward that end, we’ve recently made an addition to our facilities that should improve our ability to service the needs of couples and their guests.
After years of offering our Honey Hill event venue solely as a “open air” space for hosting weddings, we have added a permanent thirty by fifty foot frame tent that will provide covered (and, as needed, enclosed) space for groups to gather. Our new tent is located at the rear of the adjacent grassy lawn that looks west toward Thompson Knob…that “great view” guests so often comment about, especially at sunset.
The addition of our tent will make Engadine unique among the area’s other venues since it will allow us to provide a gathering place for up to one hundred fifty people combined with lodging for up to thirty five overnight guests, all on the same property. But our new tent and our lodging capacity aren’t the only advantages you will appreciate when booking your wedding, family reunion, retreat or event with us…
- Engadine is conveniently located fifteen minutes west of the urban center of Asheville and one-half mile from Exit 37 on InterState 40
- We are seven miles from the confluence of InterStates 40 and 26 and twenty five minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport (which now offers expanded direct, non-stop service to many cities in the eastern half of the country)
- Area recreation and attractions are a quick and easy drive from our location
- Asheville’s famous amenities like restaurants, breweries and music venues are not only close by, some of them are also suggested vendor partners for events held at Engadine.
