New Belgium Brewing
As makers of world-class beer for everyone, this certified B Corp brewery is also committed to contributing to the community and providing a fun experience for their employees, and of course their customers. Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome. Their Fat Tire amber ale was the world’s first carbon neutral beer. And never fear if you have some in your group that don’t like beer – in addition to the ales, ambers, IPA’s, DIPA’s, and tropical wheats, they also offer sours and seltzers to tantalize everyone taste buds. BearWaters Bistro
BearWaters Brewing’s Canton location on the Pigeon River closed permanently in February 2026; BearWaters Bistro continues to operate in Maggie Valley.
Sierra Nevada
The founder of this sustainable brewery started brewing beer as a teenager, and never stopped. Enjoy their many options, from wheats, ales, IPAs, stouts and sours, and even a domesticated wild ale that’s great now but will also progress in the bottle over many years (if you can wait that long to drink it). They also have an option for those that want something other than beer – their natural and organic Strainge Beast Hard Kombucha. In addition to the variety of beers on tap, you can sample Southern-inspired plates, relax with friends indoors or outside, and explore the beauty of their nature trail.
Wedge Brewery
This is a neighborhood brewery and gathering place where people of all ages and walks of life can enjoy a brew or two. They offer pilsners, ales, lagers, IPA’s, porters, sours, and even a few guest taps that feature such selections as ginger beer and cider. Their Wedge Studios location features food truck fare (check their website for the schedule), while the Butchery at their Foundation location offers burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, market salads & fries. The Foundation also features a large private event room dedicated to community, art and entertainment.
Wicked Weed Brewing Pub
This brewery truly offers something for everyone. Their brewpub is the original home of Wicked Weed Brewing, offering a full restaurant, downstairs beer bar, dog-friendly patio, bottle shop, and the original 15-barrel brewery. Their Funkatorium is dedicated to sour and funky beer. Wicked Weed West is a 50-barrel Production Brewery with a taproom that’s open to the public! And Cultura offers cocktails and full bar service, along with small plates of classic bites. They have also donated over $1.6 million to Asheville non-profit organizations through their Beers that Build program.
Green Man Brewery
This brewery is one of Asheville’s original breweries, and has offered award-winning ales since 1997. They have two locations, Green Mansion and Dirty Jack’s, the original brewery location that offers an indoor/outdoor top floor taproom that overlooks production and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Kids and dogs are welcome at this location. Both locations offer several spaces for group events. Their name represents rebirth, or “renaissance,” highlighting the cycle of growth that occurs each spring. They offer ales, lagers, hefeweizens, porters, stouts, IPAs, DIPAs and sour beers.
Highland Brewing Company
This is the largest independent, family-owned brewery native to the Southeast, and the first legal brewery in Asheville since prohibition. They are dedicated to sustainability and giving back to the community. Visit their East Asheville campus for beer, live music and food trucks. (Check their website for schedule.)
